Why Your App Should Never Call an External API and How to Fix it With Swift

January 12 @ 6:30 pm

Starting at 6:30pm, we’ll have free food sponsored by Arbormoon Software, Inc. Please RSVP to help us estimate how much food we need. While you are enjoying the food, talk with other developers and network in the local Cocoa community. Our main meeting will start at 7pm and will feature a talk by Doug Lance. Doug will show you how to build a Swift API intermediary between your code and any third-party API. Doug will share the reasons why this is a good idea and can sometimes be a bad idea. Most of all, he will teach you how to prevent your application from exploding when that API you love changes its syntax.

Doug Lance is the founder of eFiction Publishing, LLC., which publishes six monthly fiction magazines to a global audience. He also does DevOps and iOS development for Arbormoon Software, Inc.
